Ok, third book of Scalzi’s now that I’ve read in the past three months and I. am. all. in. for. Scalzi.

I haven’t read a lot of space/interplanetary/other-worldly type of sci-fi, so I was slightly iffy about the premise at first. The thought of reading about ewok-like creatures, and then just simply another Scalzi book just kept me intrigued.

Completely satisified with my decision b/c this book was just fun and very interesting in its world-building and fantastically written array of characters.

I’ve said it in my two other reviews: Scalzi has such a way with conversation and speech with his characters. The court scenes were magnificent and soooo utterly satisfying.

The way this story played out was just perfect. Just read it!

DID NOT FINISH: 28%

I'm not really appreciating this book. I respect that it is an update of an older story, and some of the bones of that older story are frustrating me. That plus earlier versions of details used in The Kaiju Preservation Society that keep throwing me out of the story, the somewhat wooden characters, and I've ground through the last ten pages and decided that if I'd rather read something else, I should read something else. I'll come back to this some other time, when I can deal with USian corporate dystopia.

A little more emotional than Starter Villain, Kaiju Preservation Society, and Redshirts but still very, very good.
