I loved the mix of male characters! their personalities were so great and a tall kick ass heroine... it was good and fun in several ways.

Peeeero NO.
Lamento haber perdido horas de lectura en esto.

Granting 1 star for this so called romance novel is being too optimistic.

The synopsis made it look mildly entertaining, but it simply didn't deliver.

I mean, let's be honest, the story of a young woman asking two men to train her in the world of menages with the sole objective of being ready for her all time crush is not something to die for. Even so, I was still hoping it weren't a predictable story, or that the dialogues were witty and fun.

I regret having wasted precious time of reading with this god awful book.

Kimber is a virgin and in love with a pop star. At first I thought she was just delusional, but it turns out he is just as delusional as she is. He is famous, with a well known kinky side, and a love of menage. He says she is too innocent for his lifestyle, and she is determined to prove otherwise. She seeks out Deke, an old teenage crush, knowing he can teach her everything she needs to know about menage before Jesse returns from tour. What she doesn't count on is falling for bad boy Deke, who is very clear their relationship is only physical. The first half of the book was interesting.. the second half, not so much. It was all a repeat of the first half. Other than sex, her military father has received threats, some of which include Kimber.

****************** Spoilers/ Recap **************************
Jesse McCall is in love with Kimbers innocence. He believes only she can save him from his wicked ways. Kimber finds out she is pregnant, and Deke is less than thrilled. Deke breaks her heart, and she goes to Jesse and her original plan. Once she learns he isn't in love with her, but the idea of her, she gives up on all of it. Luc, the third participant, and Deke's cousin, is thrilled that Kimber is pregnant. He later confirms that he isn't able to have kids, and knew the only way around it, is to hope Deke got someone pregnant so he could raise the child. Jesse's manager turns out to be the person threatening Kimber, because he is positive his feelings for Kimber will ruin his career. He is too old to start over, and decides he has to get rid of her. After a bomb explodes at her fathers home, and Kimber is in danger Deke learns the error of his ways and seeks her out. She later finds out she isn't really pregnant, but they stay together. Once they decide to make a real relationship, Lucas is out on his own. His hopes of fathering a child with some of his bloodline are crushed.

DNF
Ugh. That's it. That's the review. The only somewhat redeeming character in this book is Luc, and that's just not enough for two stars. I do understand why ppl like it, but it is not for me.I need more plot. This is just c-production porn by my standards.

I definitely liked Kimber and Deke's story better than Jack and Morgan's. Both characters (for the most part) communicated what they wanted from each other. I liked how upfront Kimber was and I didn't find her whiny or annoying. I liked Luc's role in the relationship as well. I'm excited for more of his own background in one of the next books. This was spicy spicy and Shayla Black does that really well. There's also a bit of darkness I'm coming to realize after reading the second one in this series and I liked the mystery of it all. I definitely enjoyed reading this one and enjoyed watching Deke and Kimber's relationship develop from just sex into full blown love. I'm definitely curious to see how the rest of the series goes.

I was actually surprised by Luc, Deke and Kimber's story. It was wasn't what I was expecting. There was tons of romance, some scary situations, a bomb and lots of fun mixed in. I really liked this one.

It has been 7 years since I listened and wow my tastes have sure changed.
I didn’t hate it I just didn’t connect with Kimber at all and being as she is one of the main characters you kinda need to like them.

Deke is probably my favorite character in this book but his past was just eluded too soo much.

Also I don’t think virgins really are my thing. We all just like what we like.

The narration was a little annoying, too high pitched.

This book was really great. Usually sequels are iffy, but since this was a companion novel it worked. At the being Kimber annoyed me a bit because her relationship with the pop star was delusional. And the way he kept saying that she would help him, like wtf. I really didn't trust Jesse and when he betrayed Kimber with the blonde, I was like girl just run back to the sexy men that treat you like a goddess. I kind of guess what happened to Heather, but I was still really sad for Deke because she destroyed his life and he didn't deserve that. I also felt really bad for Luc, but I am excited to read his book. Overall this book had a lot of what I like in my romance, hot sexy times, suspense, love. Shayla Black really knows how to bring a girl to tears because of a fictional couple that is broken but they need each other. I would recommend this to all romance lovers.
