gosh Ray can truly write. This is a book for lovers of darkness and prose, not for realists. The way he writes Venice is so vivid, I felt like I was really there on those piers.
You can’t think too much about things making sense though. Just go for the ride.
The characters are all so intriguing. Constance Rattigan is a legend.

An easy and often funny read from Bradbury, he's such a fun and inventive read. This is his ode to noir and detective fiction in the realm of James M. Cain and Raymond Chandler, with a self-insert character that is totally Bradbury himself. Lots of fun, but felt it was a little too short. Luckily there are two other books in the series.
