Who doesn't love a city boy learning to love life on the farm! This sweet story, with well fleshed out main characters, is a welcome addition to the Heather Bay series.

I have really enjoyed this series and this one did not disappoint in any way. I love Will and Jamie and the chemistry between them. This book has wonderful characters and a great story that you will not want to put down once you start reading.

Charming low angst opposites attract MM romance.

Like I Needed is Book 3 in the Heather Bay series and reading the previous books first will give you insight on the set-up and secondary characters.

When trust fund playboy Jamie realizes he's bored of his hedonistic life with no purpose in London, he ups sticks for a break somewhere none of his fashionable friends and hangers on will be interested in following him: Heather Bay, Yorkshire.

Sheep farmer Will knows he is physically and emotionally exhausted by the overwhelming life of a single farmer with no one to really lean on. But what choice does he have if he wants to keep the farm that's been in his family for generations going?

When a chance meeting at the pub leads to a hookup and then more, both Jamie and Will's lives change as they fall in love.

The character development for both MCs was nicely done although I would have liked a bit more on Jamie's family background.

I really enjoyed this book! Surprised because I found the other ones so boring, but this one had momentum. And even though the plot was obvious from a mile away, it was still interesting to watch it unfold. Extremely low angst. And I learned a bunch about sheep farming haha

Like I Needed is the third book in the Heather Bay series, and is my favorite of the series yet. It can be read as a standalone, but I’d highly recommend reading the first two so you learn more about Will’s friends and get a little more background on Will himself. As the blurb describes, we have Jamie, the hedonistic trust funder, running off to Heather Bay to try to find himself. What he finds is Will, the workaholic sheep farmer. One night leads to more nights, which lead to Jamie helping Will through the most strenuous time of his year. We get lots of steamy scenes with the only relationship angst coming from both characters’ inner monologues worrying about not being enough for the other to stay. And given their differences, the amount of worrying is justified and not excessive. The only real tension in the book is the lambing season itself. I will say that there’s some descriptive sheep birthing scenes, so if you’re squeamish about that sort of thing, you might want to skip over those parts. But then we get to hear about adorable lambs, along with Will’s dogs and cat. Makes my animal loving heart smile.

I always volunteer to listen to Charlie Novak’s audiobooks because I enjoy Dan Calley. His low keyed tones worked well for this book. I particularly like how he portrays Will’s friends, and I can’t wait to listen to Alex and Henry’s book next.

I received a promotional copy of this audiobook, and am happy to leave an honest review.

Heartwarming and sexy

I loved this book and devoured it in an afternoon. Will and Jamie are insatiable together with really steamy scenes. I loved the farming and lambing storyline it added great narrative and was so humbling. The characters were so well written you felt you were nestled between them. It's always a 5 star book when the characters capture me so intensely. A great continuation to the series and the next book sounds intriguing too.

Jamie is a rich bon vivant who is ready to figure out the next phase of his life and retreats to rural Yorkshire to figure out what that might look like... Will is the sheep farmer who is tied to the farm his family has been working for generations and who meets Jamie at the local pub, where they indulge in a one night stand...

This book is a lovely, fairly low angst read that takes us along with Jamie as he learns more about himself as he continues to integrate into Will's world... and it was a sweet, no angst, pieces fit romance...

For me, I wanted more tension, more of Jamie's former life creeping in, more angst from Will about what a relationship with a trust fund baby would be... so I am giving it 4 stars, but honestly it's a lovely read!

How I loved these two men. Will is a stressed out gruff but charming farmer with no time for anything else but work. Jamie is a trust fund city boy who lives a hedonistic lifestyle but is looking for something more.

This leads him to Heather Bay and after settling into his hotel he makes his way to the local pub and hooks up with Will for a very steamy encounter. The chemistry between them is absolutely sizzling and after a push from meddling friends, Will and Jamie get together again, and again, and again.
It’s a joy watching Will slowly fall in love with his ‘posh boy’ and how his insightful comments help Jamie find purpose in his life. A purpose that has him falling for his ‘farm boy’, the farm and Heather Bay. There’s no dramatic moments or upheavals as they work towards their HEA, just the logistics of two people falling in love, living together and surviving lambing season in winter!

This is a beautifully written romance with plenty of heat, a great cast of main and secondary characters and a happy ending that warmed my heart.
This can be read as a standalone but reading the previous books in the series would enhance the experience.
