It was lovely to see Dimitirs family but if I'm to be honest it didn't seem right. The ebb of the characters personalities didn't match what I was used to reading in my other books. I also felt like it was extraordinarily short for a strogoi that was notoriously old. Overall though, it's a cute short read

This review appears on RelleReads. Check it out for reviews, writing and more! Nope, kidding. Just those two.
Dimitri smiled and put his arm around me. "Don't you believe in fate, Roza?"
"Sure", I said. "Just not in your grandmother's crazy vague predictions."
"Doesn't sound that crazy to me," he teased.
"You're as crazy as her."
He kissed the top of my head. "I had a feeling you'd say that."
- Rose Hathaway, Homecoming

I can finally leave the Vampire Academy series in peace after reading this wonderful short story. It contains everything a fan of this series needs to be fully statisfied: action, romance and a prediction from Dimitri's grandmother Yeva. Even if you don't ship Rosa and Dimitri as a couple, you can't not smile at the way this story wrapped up. Starting the novel, you expect it to be full of happy faces and kisses and one big reunion. We get that, but after a while you start to notice that Rose and Dimitri's vacation quickly turns out into another journey. To hunt down a mysterious Strigoi called The Blood King. I hoped him to be an old character of the series, but then came the realisation that there was no old guy to use. So besides it not turning out as I hoped it would be, Homecoming is still an actionpacked short story with a heart-warming scene in both beginning and the end.

Read for the Rose and Dimitri Vampire Academy story. I read a few of the stories from other authors I recognized, but the other stories were a little weird and too short to be really good.

Some of the stories were good, others were... terrible. I'm glad I bought it, but equally glad it was less than $2.

For the most part I really enjoyed this collection of short stories all playing off the themes of prophecy and prediction. Some were stronger than others, but I found myself thinking and entertained more often than not. Also, 14 was the perfect number of stories. I reviewed one a week on my blog which was a good pace and just enough to get a taste of some authors I've never read before.

I am a huge fan of short stories, especially short stories that are a bit eerie and untold of . Sadly, I did not read this because of Dimitri ( I understood nothing of the story Homecoming, maybe I need to read the series to earn those butterflies ) ... but I still enjoyed it. Laini Taylor's name was why I grasped this book, and afterwards I felt glad I did because the other authors also did a wonderful job and deserve credit. If I had to choose my favourites I would choose...

Gentlemen Send Phantoms, Laini Taylor
The way she wrote the story was unpredictable and beautiful Laini Taylor is lyrical in her writing, and I loved that the same music was included in this short story. I loved how as I read it, I felt I knew what was happening... but then I didn't.

Burned Bright , Diana Peterfreund
Biggest Plot Twist of the century! The characters were not as well-described as other stories, but short stories usually don't think about that. I loved the theme that was used here, and I love the powerful message that was carved into this short story.

One True Love ,Malinda Lo - because I love plot twists, I haven't read the rest of her books but I loved this story because it was cliche but it was also new.

Misery ,Heather Brewer - I loved the idea of this story, but I felt that it was incomplete somehow. Even though , I still have the story fresh in my mind.

The Mind Is A Powerful Thing, Matt de la Pena
Ugh, this story was genius and I didn't even notice that there was no mention of the carved message in the bodies later on in the story. If I could say it, this story seemed like it was written by Gillian Flynn. The strange twist and the sad truth was very astonishing and delightful to read.

The Chosen One, Saundra Mitchel
I loved the bond of the sisters, and the idea of the quest. I loved that this story was more about courage and love than one sister being more beautiful that the other.

Improbable Futures ,Kami Garcia

This story was alright-ish, but it was a predictable tale. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed reading it.

Fate,Simone Elkeles

A romantic tale that I gushed over... please do read it.

The Killing Garden,Carrie Ryan

The editor gets to add her story in! Yeah! I loved this edition! The Killing Garden was a creative piece and I loved reading it. It was fun to read, and I loved the main character. I felt joy for the main character and I felt pain for her when she had to kill her best friend. A emotional tale that has carved a space in my heart for me.

The rest, I do not wish to mention because although they were creative I was not impressed. I am also terrible at reviewing stories, and that may also be a reason... but thank you for reading my review and I do hope you read the rest of the book. The whole compilation is beautiful!
