had i read this when i was a teenager i probably would have loved it. i honestly was kind of enjoying the stream of consciousness style of writing but ... i didn't really like anything else haha
i was going to force myself to keep reading because i kinda vibed with warner and wanted to see if he actually got to romance juilette but alas, i didn't like her enough, or adam, or the plot, or the worldbuilding (or lack thereof), and after fully skimming 3 chapters i had to just let myself give up

didn't love it, didn't hate it. the only reason it gets 3 stars is the main character has brown hair and she wasn't complaining about it(cough alina starknov cough). i did like the plot and juliette was basicly rouge from x-men which is good because i love rogue.
CHARACTERS.
juliette.
when i started this which was like 2 hours ago i was like ...so she's kooky, and not in a resonable way like winter in the lunar chronicles. so apearently she has trauma, that suddenly disapears halfway through the book. plothole alert.
adam.
this man was like malyen oretsev he had basicly no personality, except that he has blue eyes? and he just was kind of a stalker when they were kids. and when he said "i was searching for you" RED FLAG JULES. ant time they talked i was just like ,seriously, this is the romance we are supposed to be invested in? yeah i hated that. also his power is that he can touch her. nothing else, no invulnrability. it was a plot power.
warner.
this guy was the epitome of useless love intrests, but he wasn't really, i don't know it was confusing.
my favorite character.
brenden, the electricity guy he's just a vibe.

Fine, felt like an endless internal monologue. YA version of Broken Bonds vibe.

I hate rollercoasters and this book is an emotional rollercoaster but i'd pay to ride this over and over again because it was great. The purple prose sometimes got in the way but otherwise it was a *chef's kiss* and I've since added the rest of this author's books to my TBR.

it's good, but not in a "good" way. it's very entertaining and i had a good time reading it, but then when i finished it i thought about it, and lots of things didn't really make sense. this was a good vacation read because there wasn't a lot of heavy world building, and it was a very fun read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
also i know i read this super late, but better late than never, right??
