"The Library of Borrowed Hearts" is an entertaining found family story, one I absolute loved reading! Bonus points for the small-town vibes with everyone in everyone else’s business. This story is a warm hug filled with second chances and an appreciation for books and the power of reading. I really enjoyed one particular twist in the book - one I can't give too many details on because it would ruin the adventure! -- but as I read, I was pleasantly surprised to have not guessed the big reveal.

I would have loved to have an epilogue with this one. I wanted a bit more of a complete ending for a few of the characters, but overall, found this story to be a delightful read.

Sweet story of found family and lost loves. Dual timeline set in present day and 1960, 24 year old Chloe in present day is guardian of her 3 younger siblings after her mother abandons them and working in a library, discovers a book in which star crossed lovers corresponded in 1960. It soon becomes a literary scavenger hunt as Chloe follows their affair through multiple books, uncovering a mystery that is 60 years old. Solid, relatable characters, heartbreaking lost love, great redemption in the end. Recommend.

I thought it was going to be a rom-com and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was not. It was more a 50s melodrama than anything else. Some of the characters' reactions irritated and frustrated me, but they were not cutouts, and they mostly communicated like adults, which I'm always thankful for. I was even - dare I say it? - moved.
