I really enjoyed this read. I the aspect of the past and present I really liked.

The only thing I was disappointed in was that Cathrine and jasper didn’t rekindle there romance at the end. Also I wish there was more about the son.

I was not expecting this book at all. I was expecting a fun story about a modern woman chasing down a bookish mystery. It was that, and so much more. I’m not much for romances (aside from the spicy fun ones) but this story is beautiful, heart-wrenching, lovely and sad and hopeful. And I got choked up as I read it, and that never happens to me.

I took off half a star because it took a bit to really get to the meat of the story, but once it did, I couldn’t put it down.
