If you’re looking for fantasy and spice then this book is the one for you. It was a bit slow in the beginning but I pushed through and actually ended up liking it more than I thought I would.

This one fell a bit flat for me. The biggest interest factor of the book was the plot but unfortunately it was predictable and the main characters were not entirely likeable for me.

I really liked this! A badass FMC has a one night stand with a handsome stranger the night before she joins the King’s Guard, only to find out that he is now her boss at the castle and their relationship is forbidden… swoon.

This was a fun read with a few plot twists and a fun little magic twist to a forbidden romance. Can’t wait for the next one!

I liked this. The premise of the story is actually really interesting and i loved that the FMC was a strong fighter with bad bitch energy. She was a bit of a pick-me, but whatevs. I loved the highlighted importance of female friendship with Wyn. They were basically sisters who found family in eachother after being discarded by their own. i wish we got more time with them together. I liked Thorn as well, although he was really mysterious and at the end i didnt like him as much (his motives were sus and unclear). it seems as though they are fated mates, with their intense pull and attraction to eachother that cant be helped. They cannot resist the pull to the other, but this hasnt been stated yet. TBD.

It could definitely have used more world building, as we still dont know why the Magic-Touched or Moon Marked exist and what exactly that means. We dont know why the King is so anti-magic either. These are used and referred to many times, but without a full explanation of why they occur. Hopefully we will learn more about the world and magic in the next book.

I wish we got more of Thorn’s POV, as we only got like 2 chapters with him. Although I think it was purposeful to keep the reader guessing about his motives, it also went on for like 20-30% of the book, which left me wanting.

We still dont know Thorn’s motives, so this definitely ended on a cliff hanger (next book isnt out until winter so that sucks).

An astounding first book in the Bound by the Veil series!

This has been a much needed enemies-to-lovers fantasy read for me. I absolutely LOVE the characters - love the world - love the tension - who am I kidding, I LOVED everything about this book!

Without giving anything away to future readers (trust me - go read this book); I started to pick up on clues to how the ending was going to go, minus maybe one tiny detail but in hindsight it makes more sense now.

This does leave on a massive cliffhanger, so for those that hate those - maybe wait for the second book to come out before diving into this one.... but seriously, read it, enjoy it, become crazy over the cliffhanger because I'm dying to know what happens next!
