While there's a lot less action in this volume, it's still a great one. So much drama happens within the group, that you forget about the zombies for a while. The death of a key character and one of the most memorable speeches of the series round out this volume to make it great.
i didnt like this as much as the other but i really like the Character development. all i wanted to say is everyone dies!!! so dont get attached to any characters!!!!
Yeah, I could handle the other volumes, and I'll continue to read this. But I'm over Rick. I'm over the ladies being pathetic. I'm over the stupid pointless introductory drama with Michonne, who should just be a cool bamf. I spent most of this book disliking multiple characters. And I LIKED Tyrese quite a bit, but I'm over the man who can't control his horniness and lets someone blow him because she tempted him, and he couldn't say no. Overdone trope that makes men seem stupid and incapable of rational thought. I'm more angry at that bloody trope than the fact that he cheated on Carol. And why is Carol a bloody trainwreck? And why do none of the women want to have a say in what goes on in the jail? Nope, this volume was annoying on many levels, and it isn't because the characters are going through hard times. Some of them are just annoyingly written.

Not much more to say besides how gripping this series is. Read most of the books in the span of a couple days.
Pretty good. Not as shocking as volume 3 but still intense. Starting to not like Carol and Tyreese. Never liked Allen.

I just hated the portrayal of women on this particular volume. They are weak and want to be protected. They are rivals. The writer even managed to ruin Michonne. Argh! This is where the series does better than the GN. Using the end of the world as an excuse to write poorly developed female characters is BS.
