Genuinely my favorite series-- my comfort series. I cannot tell you how many times I've reread this series.

I avoided reading this book for so long because I was worried it'd be disappointing (because I was so disappointed by the second book) but I was so pleasantly surprised! This book finishes off the series SO well.

The audiobook narrator also did such a fantastic job bringing all the characters to life, I highly recommend listening to the audiobook.

i was really confused about what rating i wanted to give to “any way the wind blows”, which means i'll probably come back to this to change things around, in the future—but two stars are going to have to do it, for now.
i really, really wanted to give this book at least three. yet, there are a couple of things—some big and some pretty much inconsequential—that didn't fully convince me. hence why, the lower rating. for now.
as a whole, i enjoyed “any way the wind blows” way more than i thought i would. “carry on” will always be my fave in the series, and i still believe it didn't need any sequels, but the second book pretty much scarred me—it was so bad. you can understand, then, precisely how scared i was going into this.
rainbow rowell pleasantly surprised me with this finale, even though i didn't really like seeing so little of agatha with the rest of the gang—nor her arc in general—and the finale felt so rushed and... not actually like a finale?

This felt like it could be an ending for the series, and I think that’s a good idea, if so. There were great parts to this, but the Simon/Baz relationship stuff got pretty tedious. It read a lot like actual fan fic. I’m not saying Simon doesn’t deserve to have issues, but I just didn’t find them very interesting to read about. On the other hand, I thought Shepard was fantastic.
