It was funny reading Hamlet in this way!!!
and maybe I haven't got all the endings but I enjoyed reading it a lot!
It's so good that you can choose your path in the book.

A fun adventure book. I really loved the storylines for Hamlet Sr.

Choose your own adventures aren’t normally my thing but I had a blast reading this (not quite as much as Romeo and/or Juliet but that’s my favorite Shakespeare play). Because Hamlet is such a recognizable story that so many people have read in school at some point, so everyone is able to at least know the main outline of the story before you choose for it to go completely off the rails. I think the thing that I loved most was the modern and sarcastic reimagining of classic lines from the story. And that you can make a happy ending for Ophelia, because she deserved better.

This is a super fun read. I picked this up after reading The Starless Sea, because choose your own adventure books were so much fun when I was growing up. Some of the first “chapter” books I ever read were choose your own adventure I’m the 80s. Now that I’ve sufficiently dated myself, I want to say this has elements of that same ensign structure but with a more adult content.

I especially liked the breakdown of Shakespeare’s source material and that North really goes all out in his creation of alternate endings. I read through several before calling it quits and enjoyed the randomness and hyperbole of each alternative ending.

Until Next Time,
MC

Usually i tend to treat choose-your-own-adventure books as groups of short stories. So did i finish reading this ENTIRE book in an hour and a half? Absolutely not. But i did complete an entire adventure for a character while also following the all the major story beats that Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” protrays.
