A TikTok convinced me to get this one... I mean SEX WIZARDS? How could I not??
Decently good spicy scenes, but absolutely no character development to speak of. There's a whisper of a plot that distracts from the sex in the last 25% of the book, but overall this had too many of my icks and not enough of my 'hell yes'es to keep going in the series.

This book is not going to shake your reading foundation. It’s not revolutionary. It is, however, a fun sexy good time.
If you are a person who often thinks “there’s too much sex in this book”, this book is not for you. If you need a solid plot, that always has a destination, this book is not for you.

I grabbed Initiation during a stuff-your kindle day, amused by the series name of "Sex Wizards". And honestly, I liked the book way more then I expected.
Initiation is kinky and queer, which in general is usually a sign the book will be fun. I really liked how the author handled trigger warnings- using descriptions of magic at the beginning of each chapter to let the reader know what to expext. I thought it was both really tasteful and a great way to world build.
I am always a fan of found family, this book has a great found family plot. Dom is usually a loner, but within the walls of the Crux, he finds people who he can consider family. They all have sex and play with each other - but there is such a sense of connection and care, it just makes everything so much better
This book was a quick, spicy read, that also somehow makes me feel warm and fuzzy for all the love it has.

I have no words. This book is so amazing. You get a plot. You get the smexy times. So. Many. Times. So. Many. People (and nonhumans). Alethea Faust weaves a phenomenal story and I cannot wait to start the next book.
