I really enjoyed this delightful fantasy novel in a world where kinky sex is the key to magical power. Dom has only recently had his magical potential detected, so he is entering a new world of pain and pleasure and discovering all there is to the world of magic and kink. I really liked the focus on consent in the world building, and there was just enough plot and action holding together the very hot kink scenes to make the story work for me. While Dom forms several close friendships and romantic relationships, I wouldn't classify this book as a romance as such, though that may change as the series progresses. I think I would have enjoyed this story more from more points of view, but the voice was strong enough to carry it. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for plenty of steam in a unique fantasy setting.

Wtf did I just read?

A magic system based on charging cock rings and anal beads via various forms of Quinky sex... That's what.. ha ha.. and I'm here for it...

Plot light, spice heavy and I'm not even mad about it.

I should probably say a few hail Mary's before delving into book 2..

This is an extremely original storyline. The main character, Dom, takes a wild ride in the world of magic and wizardry and finds out a whole lot about himself along the way. He meets some wonderful wizards and forms genuine relationships at the Crux. I was impressed with how the author put such emphasis into portraying the importance of consent and aftercare, and it shows great promise for future books in this series.

I liked the plot and the smut a lot! Really original magic system too. I enjoyed it a lot!

This is such a weird book to classify. Erotica, sure. With freaking wizards so okay, fantasy. We have hetero action plus m/m. A non-binary character as well. Lots and lots and LOTS of sex...that create spells. Spells are literally created thru sex. I'm not sure I've ever read a more unique pairing.

Sex and kink were approached in such a refreshing way. Consent is huge. Barriers are pretty much non existent inside consent though. Everyone is having sex with everyone pretty much. There's a little extra something going between Dom and Olbric that maybe has some extra feelings attached, but otherwise it's normal for everyone to just sex it up with whoever they want so they can conjure.

There IS some plot beyond the sex thankfully, but not all that much. The way sex is woven into magic makes it the plot. And I really enjoyed it.

4.5 ⭐️

straight up erotica lol. like so spicy. but so unique & creative. definitely an experience i won’t forget

4.5/5 (.5 knocked off for first person P.O.V)

Overall the book was extremely well written. The characters were inviting, the plot was quite entertaining, and the magic system (I'm a slut for magic systems) was perfectly executed if not a bit underutilized. I don't mean to say it wasn't in depth or anything, just wanted more in general in places I can't even really explain. The main character isn't a douche bag with a god complex (surprisingly hard to find in a BDSM or fantasy book), the queer representation is amazing, the overarching story is amazing, etc.
I read the book in about a day (Pretty average for me even with long books) and loved every minute of it. The only thing I didn't particularly like was it's first person (Just not my favorite pov to read from) and if that's all I don't like about it, then dang, that's a first.
