The only time I’ll accept two lesbians being surrounded by dicks.

Character Impressions:

Cade Elgin
Cade’s that hot lesbian who’s so serious all the time that you kind of want to ruffle her perfect hair just to see what she does. She’s the reasonable one out of the pair, while Selena plays off her character as the emotional one.

Her strained relationship with her alpaca-loving parents is hilarious, but made me kind of sad at times, because through how they treat her, you can see why she thinks people only want to use her for their own benefit, not because they actually care. Of course, that's where Selena comes in.

Selena Mathis
I found Selena’s naivety to be pretty endearing. She’s so open about her sex life and talks about sex like it’s everyday conversation that it throws Cade off her stride at times. Despite disagreeing with Cade on almost everything about how to run a sex shop, she’s not afraid to admit when she’s wrong.

Story Impressions:

There’s a moment towards the end where I was screaming for both women to just open their mouths and speak words, but it makes sense why they didn’t. But my god, was the yearning so gut wrenching and worth the moment when they finally sucked it up and admitted their feelings for each other.

Highlights:

  • Highlight 1: Opposites attract.
  • Highlight 2: My kind of humor.
  • Highlight 3: Explicit sex scenes that were hot and even educational.
  • Highlight 4: You would think a story about two women who have to run a sex shop would be filled with a ton of sex, but it’s only there when it needs to be (and when the occasion calls for it). And funnily enough, the sexiest moments were when the two women are just talking with each other. Selena’s openness about sex and Cade’s reservations about her sex life make for some pretty funny banter.
  • Highlight 5: This book made me realize that I’d forgotten how much I miss good ole grand gestures of love.
  • Highlight 6: Maybe I’m bias because I studied art, but I absolutely loved every description of paintings in this story.
  • Highlight 7: Two leads are together or thinking of each other for about 90% of the story.

My Personal Tags About the Book:

  • Bi-sexual lead
  • Lesbian lead
  • Funny banter
  • Explicit sex scenes
  • Sex scenes with toys
  • Grumpy/Sunshine

I loved this book! The tropes were amazing. The characters were great. Almost all of my tabs for the book were of the lesbian pride flag, so that’s also a big win.

This was fun and sweet, I began and ended the book with a smile!

I thought the characters, their actions, and their reactions to things made sense, and would have been near perfect had it not been for the last bit of forced miscommunication. The juxtaposition between Cade's struggle with sensuality and being uncertain of sex and Selena's struggle with being too sex focused and trying to focus on herself and her problems without using sex as a crutch was nicely done.

The book did not go the cliche route with everything being fixed with gumption and plot magic as well (with an exception for Selena at the very end) which was fun to see done.

All in all, a read I greatly enjoyed!

I love Cade and Selena!!! I had a tough time putting this story down because I wanted to see their happy ending so badly.

Cade is the accountant in a family of dreamy hippies. She runs her parents' art gallery, and now her aunt has died and left her half a failing sex shop and half a house. Selena is her aunt's friend and roommate, now Cade's co-inheritor. They could not be more different, yet they have such a beautiful connection. Cade takes care of everyone else in her family, she's been tasked with turning around the sex shop finances after all, and loves when Selena takes care of her. She agrees to learn accounting software for Cade! Cade also reminded me of my girlfriend :)

We are talking hot lesbians, wearing great clothes, riding motorcycles, and selling vibrators. I laughed out loud so much and had the best reading experience. Highly recommend!
