DNFed the first time and almost DNFed again but I’m glad that I pushed through. The first few chapters are a struggle to get through but it gets much better.
A tragic hero’s journey that left me feeling empty inside. A feeling I live for when reading. I immediately started book 2.

It was really rough to get into.  The story started getting good over halfway through the book, which was too long.

I had the hardest time with the writing style.  Almost everything was written in short abrupt sentences, almost like bursts of individual trains of thought.  I had to constantly go back and reread everything to try and understand the story.

Biggest issue is I had zero emotional connection with the MC.  Even the romance felt forced and awkward.

Tell me the series gets better! 😫

Naja.
