This was so disjointed and just bad honestly. If I hadn’t already read the ToG series, this book alone would have stopped me from reading them lol I just didn’t warm up to Sam’s character and don’t understand their dynamic and why it’s so important.

3.75 stars. I enjoyed this collection of stories, but I didn't love them all. My lowest rated was The Assassin and the Pirate Lord (2.75) and my highest rated were The Assassin and the Desert and The Assassin and the Empire (4.5). I was left feeling very ready to start Throne of Glass after that last one. I loved Sam too!
