I had really high hopes for this one because I loved Lord's debut novel Tweet Cute, but this one fell flat for me. It managed to have a lot happening but not feel that exciting, the romance was only present towards the end of the book, and there was a lot of family drama that was very easily resolved, all things considered. Unfortunately, not Lord's strongest showing so far.

I didn't like the MC and then things went downhill from there. The plot was super weird. Like they basically meet then go to summer camp where they started off fighting and did nothing towards their goal of learning about their situation except for the fact that their parents HAPPENED to all go to the camp at the same time. Seems messy to me and not the good kind of messy. The reason the parents give was just super weird as well. I also didn't like the romance so this was not the book for me.
I remember very little of this EXCEPT the bit where they got stuck in a hole because hashtag relatable amirite
I really enjoyed this YA novel on audio. Family drama, romance, DNA testing and its implications. There was so much explored in this novel, but it never felt heavy. I thought the characters and relationships were well developed. I will definitely check out more by Emma Lord in the future.

Cutesy book! It’s like the modern day mash up for “Parent Trap” and “The Wedding Planner.” Long lost family secrets with cute best friends to lovers back stories.
Honestly, the vast majority of this entire book was very predictable. But it’s a nice feel-good predictability that makes you want to finish it!

375 for sure, I'm still not fully on board with romance (this is pretty light though, it's mostly about family) but loving the rep here. really sweet and fun and has nostalgic Parent Trap feels.
