First time reading this author. It was pretty good, although it was a little long for not having a whole lot happen. Mostly it seemed to be about world and character building. Thankfully, the whole series is in KU, so there's no waiting for the next one.

I am a little obsessed with this series now. This book was my fave book 1 in forever. Super funny, heartfelt, snarky and sexy PNR all in one book? YES! I love KF Breene’s Ruin of Roses but the humor and plot pacing of this is whole nuther level. Here is me praying it lasts for 5 more books!

Strong 3.5. The thing I like about K.F Breene is they tell the story in bite sized chunks that make sense. There’s always high stakes, and it’s always building to a greater central plot, but it’s more monster-of-the-week, and not every instalment is about preventing the end of the world.
This book- I have mixed feelings. I found Daisy to be verging on the annoying side of precocious. I didn’t understand or feel any chemistry between the mains or why the MMC is so drawn to and wanting to protect the FMC.
I will keep reading because this series is highly recommended and because K.F Breene is responsible for my favourite ever female character in Reagan from the Demon Days Vampire Nights series, so I know Alexis is likely to become another much loved character.
But I am once again asking for better cover art
