You get one star knocked off for transcribing an episode of "American Ninja Warrior". That was painful.
This story was fantastic, I fell in love with Kieran. KF Breene did a terrific job creating this world, the characters are very interesting and the plot line had good pacing. The details provided gave the whole story a better push for readers to imagine and live through the words. I will keep on reading more books after the roller-coaster I just experienced in the best way, I found a new author to one-click.

Lexi is an amazing MC!!! I love how real she is!! Plus she loves her two teenage wards so much, and she’s in her 20’s and has taken them on!! When her mom died, Lexi continued her mom’s ways by taking in those young and needing a home. Even though she can’t afford it.
Lexi then meets Kieran, the demigod, and her world is turned upside down. Holy Cow!!!!

I read this for a challenge and ended up liking it more than I expected. As is the case with quite a few UF/PNR series, the heroine is considerably stronger (magically) than she realized. But she's also caring and wonderfully snarky, and not a perfect Mary Sue. And that makes her much more relatable and more fun to read about.
Caution: this book is basically the setup for the series and doesn't really have a solid ending.
Khristine Hvam's narration is perfect, although since it's told through dual POVs, it would've made more sense to have a male narrator as well.
