I really wanted to like this, I was hoping to get sucked in to the world and the rules governing their magic system. I felt the pacing was too slow and by half way I still wasn't invested in the plot or characters.
Okay still don’t understand the book title but this was SO much fun. Maybe it’s partly because the graphic audio version was *chefs kiss*, but I think it’s mostly due to how much I LOVED the characters!
I think this is the first fantasy romance I’ve read where I almost wish there wasn’t a romance element. I was having so much fun with Ghost Frank and those wise wards and sassy Alexis to even remember that it’s very clearly a romance between Kieran and Alexis.
The romance was the weakest part. The story and characters are so fun, though, that I’ll be reading book 2.

This was a fun spin on the story. Good characters, fun story line. I wanted it to be longer, lots of chances to grow the characters more.
I adored the writing and the characters, can't wait to dig into the rest of the series.
