Rocket Raccoon and his big buddy Groot are at it again in this second volume from Skottie Young. There is exciting space romps, witty banter, and a undercurrent of finding where to belong and what is truly important in the world. Make no mistake about it, I am a Marvel fangirl but it still surprises me how well a raccoon and a tree make such a great story.
Young brings out the funny like no other and even when Groot is speaking the humor is on point. I feel like the most important part of this volume is the Gilmore Girls reference Rocket makes to Groot. It made me laugh out loud during a scene that is also very touching. There's even an appearance by Cosmo the Spacedog! Skottie Young also does an excellent job of balancing that humor with emotional storylines which provides a well rounded narrative for all.
The illustrations and coloring by Andrade and Parker is absolutely beautiful. I'm a sucker for traditional comic/superhero art and this hits right at my heart. The colors are so vibrant that they jump from the page; bright and enticing. I particularly liked the depiction of the Winter Planet. The gorgeous contrasts between the light and dark really stand out.

Rocket and Groot are on a planet full of ice without fuel and they try to keep themselves warm until some gigantic wolves attack them, wounding Groot. The friends are saved by a mysterious girl that take them to the place where she lives. Problems have just begun.
En este número tenemos a Rocket y Groot en un planeta helado y sin combustible. Por si fuese poco, una especie de lobos gigantes los ataca y Groot es herido. Por suerte para ellos, ya que las armas de Rocket están congeladas, los salva una nativa y los lleva a donde vive. Primera parte de los problemas de estos amigos.
Conclusion of this two-part-story where Groot was poisoned and Rocket need to get the cure for his friend. Rocket is funny but Jink is a totally badass woman. I loved her. I want to continue this series also :)
Fin de la historia en dos partes donde Rocket debe salvar a Groot de un veneno. Genial Rocket pero más genial aún Jink la-que-patea-culos-sin-parar. ¡Es genial! Me gusta mucho la serie y seguiré con ella :)
This was a quite strange issue... We are in New York in 2046 and Hulk is trying to stop Groot from destroying the city. So, Tony Stark tries to convince Rocket Raccoon to stop his old friend. Quite strange but very interesting issue.
Curioso número donde viajamos al Nueva York de 2046 donde Groot intenta destruir la ciudad y los Vengadores salvarla... aunque su única oportunidad es que Rocket los ayude a parar a su antiguo amigo. Interesante cuando menos este número.
Rocket has again some trouble and a fine to pay buuut, he will do something else. This number is just the beginning of another adventure, so let's see the next one.
De nuevo Rocket anda en problemas por lo que este número parece el comienzo de un nuevo arco argumental. Veremos qué tal el siguiente.
If in the previous number we are reminded of his ex-girlfriends, here we have another character from the previous issues. Better than the first part and maybe the next one will be action-packed.
En este número y en el anterior hemos recogido cosas de números pasados, así que mola ver cómo se van uniendo todos los detalles de la trama. Mejor que el anterior y espero que el siguiente tenga muchísima acción ;)
