Made the 1st book seem so much better in comparison.

Okay it wasn't that bad but that pacing outside of the very start and the end was sooo bad and it was weird because by the end of it i was like we hardly did anything here???

that's not to say i didn't love sian and trillin's relationship cause it was quite beautiful and i acc lived for the whole disection of fairytale roles and stories as a reflection of how we put ourselves in constricting boxes to keep the status quo alive and achieve a flimsy idea of 'happy ever after' that doesn't apply to all of us and doesn't work for anyone.

unfortunately that isn't enough to combat the pacing and earn more than 3 stars.

Can't wait for the next one though !!

Thank you for the opportunity of being an ARC to this lovely sequel (& I apologize for the lateness).

I've always appreciated Marie Cardno's wonderful depictions and vivid imagery in their universe and story-telling with Trillin and Sian, but this was really a fun, low-heat sapphic novella with a fantastic quirky pull. I feel like there aren't enough femme monsters in romance, and especially sapphic and WLW monster-lovers, too. Even though this isn't spicy like a lot of monster romance novels, I really truly recommend these - the first book and this (the sequel). For the most part, it's light-hearted (although this sequel has amped up the emotional distress in some places), quirky, and cute (Bunny, hello!) and I really do enjoy the unique character development and personalities present. Nobody is a one-fold dimensional character here!

Character Depictions/Imagery: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat/Spice (Not a complaint, as this was stated): ⭐️
Unique Amicability/Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was so fun and so cute! I think I preferred book one slightly more, but still really enjoyed this!
Trillin and Sian are such fun characters and I can't wait to see what book 3 explores.

This wasn’t as good as the first. The writing was kinda confusing and my brain wasn’t having a hard time processing, maybe on purpose or maybe bc I’m tired.
The new dimension they landed in had a cool premise but idk I enjoyed the first book better
