Just as breathtakingly beautiful the second time around. These characters have a special place in my heart, Tané especially. Samantha Shannon is a literary godsend.

Started out as going pretty quick until 3/4 of the way. I got bored and lost interest and it became really a struggle to read. A lot of political, workd building aspects that were kind of boring and I did not care about, lots of details that I didn't care about. Not much focus about dragons

I really liked the story but i just felt it was too long. Like there was a lot of boring filler that you didn't need. This was an 800+ page slow burn. If you like a slow burn youd love this book but its just not for me. I cant fault the story line though, there is great world telling and i think it will go down with the likes of Lord Of The Rings and Game Of Thrones.

I loved so many things about this book! The characters were delightful and I loved the exploration of their relationships. The lore and worldbuilding were amazing. My only critique is that in the latter half of the book, it feels like there are revelations and plot points that are unearned or rushed through, probably to keep the book from getting too long (since at 800 pages it is quite lengthy). If this book was a series of multiple books with the plot a bit more evenly distributed across them, it might be a series of 5/5 star books for me. Still, I loved this and will gladly revisit it.
