OH MY HEART! I LOVED THIS ONE! The worlds, the characters and the customs and beliefs will BLOW you away!! I think The Priory of the Orange Tree might have converted me into a High Fantasy lover! I felt so connected to each and every one of the characters. I felt Sabran's pain and joy, Loth's determination and kindness, Ead's bravery and Tane's perseverance! This book is quite long and it took me about 22 days to finish it, with breaks in between! The cover of Priory is AMAZING, I loved the way the artist depicted the dragons and the colours in general! I will be doing a reread of this one since I loved it so much! I cannot wait to dive into this world again, MAJOR thanks to Samantha Shannon for this one-of-a-kind book!

So epic and I love all the female characters. Some really fun characters got killed off and I wish they weren't, but this book was so chock full of stuff maybe we wouldn't have had time for them anyways. My favorite was the action which is so not normal for me. I haven't been this excited over people fighting each other in a book since reading the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe as a kid. It does get a little complicated and it has a good deal of politics and time skips, but it really works for what kind of story it is. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is bc I didn't emotionally connect with it as deeply as other books, but it is genuinely awesome.

I’m calling it. DNF. There are things that I enjoyed but there was a lot of just “talking” that didn’t move the plot in anyway. I can appreciate the world building but I think this one is not for me. Disappointed since there was so much hype
