I know it was a little cheesy and I saw the "twist" coming from a mile away, but I DID get a good little scare out of the end there, and that was fun.

So this is supposed to be a prequel to a book series about a certain character. But that character only has a small part in this book. I find that a little strange. The main character was great, but the villain was a little dull and predictable. But maybe that just because I read lots of mystery books. A decent read, but could have longer to have a better build up.

I just love this series and this novella was perfectly narrated on audio.

As far as crime novels go it didnt really have enough meat to it to make it a full 4 star read and if you are not familiar with the series you may not appreciate it as much but it was a lovely companion to the series and kept me entertained during my morning walks.
