Apparently this book has some intense critics but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a slow start for me but after about 80 pages, I was in. I loved all the characters and the many themes in this book. I’m excited for the second one.

I have always loved this book. Cozy, funny, and heartwarming, this is a story about second chances, love, and family. Some of my fav quotes:

“Dreams are merely dream. They’re meant to be flights of fancy. Theirs not necessarily supposed to come true.”
“And hey here you are by the sea, far away from your chair and your home.” She stopped and turned her face towards the sky
“There’s music everywhere, Mr. Baker. You just have to learn to listen to it.

I am surprised I didn't like this book more, but for some reason it didn't speak to me. My absolute favorite part of the book were the kids and all their quirks/personalities (especially Chauncey!).
