A really lovely book about systematic oppression and otherness.

This was such a heartwarming story full of loveable characters. It deals with some dark themes but juggles these in a sensitive manner while also remaining a cosy read.

I didn't think Zoe and Helen's relationship was necessary - I think a female friendship across the species divide would have been really effective as the plot already centres on romantic and familial bonds
.

In general, I really enjoyed this book - a perfect heartwarming read!

I really enjoyed this book when I read it and then I saw the authors comments on the sixties scoop no thank you!

Such a cute story I really enjoyed this!!! It was a tad childish but it was also so whimsical and fun. A really easy read with lots of endearing moments.

this book was so sweet. I went in feeling a little hesitant, but I thought the characterization was very strong and I really loved reading more about all of them. no complaints from my fifth 5-star book in a row :)

This book was really sweet, the characters are enjoyable and I really enjoyed having a moderately dislikable main chapter for a while lmao.

My gripes lie with the dialogue which can feel unnatural, I suppose the world is supernatural but the dialogue made the characters feel sort of stage play-esque. I wish the characters felt more real at times.

And personally when Linus was going on about the ethics of the "orphanages" and how society needs to change I felt a bit peeved since I the reader obviously felt the same and the amount of times he talks about the injustices makes me feel like he's trying to convince me of his view point and I'm like king I'm already there can we move on with the story please

Other than that it was sweet and  predictable, but sometimes that's just what we want :) a recommended read for someone looking for LGBTQIA+ sweetness and especially if you have a soft spot for cute kids
