I am so blown away by how much I love this script! I saw the movie today and it was magical... Hahaha. Newt is my new favorite character ever!!!

I'm disappointed that the screenplay was sold. It reads like a terrific movie and I wish the magic had stayed on the screen and not been transposed to the page.

Hey guys, so I just finished reading The original screenplay for Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them by JK Rowling and honestly? I just skimmed the last half of it. Not because it was boring, but cause I just wasn't getting into it. The writing, though in script form, which I have no trouble reading, was great. Yet I just wasn't really connected to the book. Yes, I immediately liked Newt, but that was pretty much it. Also, I did enjoy the trickles of humor here and there. However, I was left slightly confused by the whole ordeal. But maybe that's just because it was a script, not a book. It's not going to have a detailed plot or deep characters in the sense that'd I'd prefer. I was reading it to get ready for the movie, but perhaps I should have watched the movie first then read it. So it would make more sense. I dunno.

A solid entry into the world of screenplay writing for J.K. Rowling. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them was not my favorite of the two side books she published in order to make the Hogwarts Library collection. I was always hoping for (and still am) a TV series chronicling a quidditch World Cup year. Regardless, she changed my mind with this one.

Newt is the most wonderful Hufflepuff and probably one of my top ten characters of her creation. I love that she introduces us to the world of American wizards through his eyes, establishing us in the same set of new territory as her character really helped to digest the new system better.

Queenie and Tina are some of her best female characters to-date, being two sides of the same coin. They're both fierce and independent, but full of love and sympathy. They just exhibit it in different manners.

Jacob is the most endearing muggle and probably what has been missing from her works all along. He reacts exactly to the wonderful world of wizarding in the way we all did when we first discovered it.

And of course, the beasts. Rowling brought them to life from her early entries and fleshed them with personalities and nuances, something I never imagined. We all knew Fawkes and Buckbeak, but we weren't prepared to fall in love with a whole new cast of nifflers, bowtruckles, erumpents and more.

Bravo.

Another brilliant story from JK Rowling. Even though it's a screenplay there is still plenty of description in it for you to be able to use your imagination to tell the story.

I still recommend to watch the film before reading this though, as it certainly helps when reading through the scenes.

What I find most helpful with this book is that you can pick up on minor details on the narrative and descriptive parts that you may not have picked up on otherwise watching the film.

Definitely a must for Potter fans!

A screenplay is not as smooth as a novel, but I love the Harry Potter World and specially I love Newt Scamander🫶
This is my favourite of the trilogy 👌simple, it's a fast read, them getting to know each other is cute, and the beasts...🥹
I would still like to have a novel of these stories :)
