The cover isn't my favorite and the summary isn't that intriguing either. I had heard great things about this book though and I knew that I had to read it.
Wow. Kim Harrington really knows how to write a good book. The beginning wasn't a "grab you from the first page", but it got better and better as the book went on. I was left guessing up to the last couple of chapters and thrown a couple surprises. The book is pretty short (compared to most books today), but it was so incredibly good. You'll be able to read this book in one sitting!
Clare is a great protagonist. She definitely has some room for improvement, but no one is perfect right? Gabriel and Justin (said ex-boyfriend) are both incredibly incredible guys. I didn't know who to swoon over! All of the characters in this book are characterized just the right amount, but not too much because Kim Harrington definitely likes to keep readers guessing...
Overall this was a great book and I am eagerly awaiting the sequel!

WOW OH WOW!!! I loved this book so much it was so good. If you haven’t gotten this book please do ASAP! Pick it up now. I love this book for many reason first off it was something new and refreshing, the writing was so funny and great, and the characters were so enjoyable, and the plot was so good I was left guessing all the way!
Okay so the book started off right away it makes sense since the book is only 240 pages. Okay so the writing was so funny. It’s so witty yeah I think that’s the word. There is sarcasm and many times I was left actually laughing out loud which I rarely do. I loved how this book was a different and new aspect of paranormal romance and still had suspense and mystery it was so good I can’t stop gushing.
The main character Clare (Clarity) she was so funny and strong. Even though people might have teased her or said some mean things. She didn’t let it faze her. She never let them see her down. Man she had great comebacks and she was kickass in her own way just by her personality. I mean I love the phrase “welcome to freak-show”. Even though she might have been drooling for a guy she never thought she wasn’t worthy or if acted mean she set him straight and didn’t let his appearance get in the way which I loved. Clare is just full of awesomeness. Thank you Kim Harrington for such a great heroine!
Justin is so sweet. I understand he mest up and what he did was wrong but you just can’t help but love the kid. There is definitely something special about him! Gabriel is now our new hot dark haired guy.
He’s smart and is not easy on Clare. He definitely was able to make your flutter! I see interesting relationship with him and Clare, at least I hope so!!! Now Perry dear old brother Perry I loved him. I love how they were real siblings they cared about one another hung out and actually seemed like he gave a crap. He reminded of a much better and nicer Jason Stackhouse because of the way he slept with all the tourist that came visiting the town.
The suspense and mystery in this book was great. I could not figure out the killer. There was a point in the book that I suspected everyone except Clare lol.
What an amazing debut author I am so excited to have won this book!!! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

I thought because of all the bad reviews that this book would kill me to read it. But it didn't. I was surprised to find that I actually didn't mind it. I thought it had substance. Although Gabriel annoyed me a bit. Clare was a relatively good character. She's strong and self-assured. I liked that she didn't quite care about what people thought and always had a comeback. But at some points I think she sounded immature. The one part that did annoy me was when Clare's most obvious answer was in front of her, and she couldn't figure it out.

I read this the first time before tiktok and goodreads. This is now my third time reading it and it’s still so good. I really liked the easyness in this book on how it wraps up and how it builds up.
This book was absolutely amazing! The beginning intrigued me but once they led the gas station I started to drift off, but once the reading started, this book had my attention for the remaining hundred or so pages! This was a refreshing change from all the fantasy books I have been reading, this book seemed more realistic compared to the vampires and werewolves I have read recently. I loves the mystery in this book and I loved constantly being on edge and trying to guess who did it! Clare has some real guts too, and that made me love her even more! This book had me from just about the start all the way to the finish! I really can't wait for the next one!!
This was pretty good. I really enjoyed the heroine who saw that she could really use her gift to help the police catch the real killer.
Clarity is a fun mystery novel with a supernatural, psychic spin.
I love Clare. Her voice is so much fun to read! Her personality is witty and strong. She's something of an outcast because of her abilities. People call her a freak. But she doesn't wallow in self-pity, and she doesn't take crap from people. Her family lives in a vacation town and operates a business out of their home doing psychic readings for tourists. I like that the whole family is involved and that everyone in town knows they do this stuff. It's no secret that needs to be treated delicately and kept private. Her mom reads minds (an often inconvenient trait in a mother) and her brother Perry can communicate with ghosts. The family dynamic in this novel is great. Clare and Perry are best friends and their mother is a loving and supportive parent.
The plot's pacing is pretty quick and it is filled with murder and intrigue. Events in the ongoing murder investigation keep things moving so it makes for a quick, enjoyable read. One of my favorite things about this novel is that I really never knew who did it. I had numerous suspects throughout the course of the story and could never pin down exactly what in the world was going on. This is a big deal to me, because I almost always figure out who the killer is in books with a whodunnit plot line. So I love that about this book.
Clarity reads like a contemporary mystery but it has the added touch of psychic ability to it. But Clare's psychic powers don't always show her what she's looking for and her visions don't always make sense to her. The supernatural aspect of this story doesn't bog down the mystery. It is woven into the story tastefully and seamlessly so as not to be too distracting or ridiculous. If you like unique female voices, mysteries, and touches of the supernatural/psychic, then you'd probably enjoy Clarity.

I'm a fan of the YA mystery, and this is no exception. The ending, sadly, makes me think there's going to be a sequel?
