Clarity was awesome! I couldn't put it down! Seriously! I read it from start to finish in one sitting. Totally loved it.
It was awesome to read about a family of psychics all working together to run a business. And to see how Clare defended her brother no matter what. The family loyatly in this was astounding and I found myself feeling a bit jealous of it every now and then.
The murder mystery aspect was done so well. It kept me guess the whole time. Every time I thought I figured out whodunnit, Harrington threw me another curve ball. Usually, I'm pretty good at figuring out the mysteries. I wasn't even close this time. I loved every minute of it!
I also enjoy the romance aspect greatly. Clare's relationship with her ex, Justin, was very confusing and messy and that made it all the more real. He hurt her very badly, but she was trying to forgive him though she didn't know how. Something I can completely relate too.
Then enters the new hottie, Gabriel. He was completely steamy and I was drawn to him from the get go, just like Clare. I lived for the scenes he was in, even when he was kind of a great. But with his past, who could blame him...
Clarity was a five star read. If for any reason you've been putting off reading it like I did. Stop it. Read it. Now.

I did enjoy this but I feel as though the ending had more to be desired. While I originally thought it would be the typical YA love triangle, this was very different, which I enjoyed. I would recommend this book, but it wasn't my favorite, and as usual, I had a problem with the names (Periwinkle? I can't even...) But other than that I did like it and would definitely recommend it to whoever was looking for a good book to read.
Every now and again, an author brings to the table a paranormal book that is not only beauty on the outside, but wonderfully written on the inside. With Clarity, I was sucked in from the first page and couldn't put it down until the end.
Clarity comes from a family who have special gifts. The whole town she was originally from had gifts as well. Clarity can see past events from touching objects. Her brother Perry can see the dead spirits. Her mother is a telepath and can read the immediate thoughts of others. Together they run a home based business for tourists in their town on Cape Cod. When a tourist is found murdered at the local hotel, Clarity teams up with Gabriel who happens to be the newest Detective's son. To make it more complicated though, he ex-boyfriend is included in the investigation as well. When clues and suspicion is suddenly on Perry, Clarity makes it her number one priority to find the real killer.
I really liked Clarity. She had strong feelings supporting her family and proving her brother innocent no matter what was thrown at her. Yes, she had doubts at some point, but she quickly got over them and believed in her brother. When other people started dying, she refused to back away from the case and continued to try and find out just who the murderer was.
Gabriel was the bad boy on the outside, but the heart of a good guy that balanced with Clarity perfectly. Even though her ex-boyfriend Justin came off as the typical cheat at first, but once you delve in deeper to his character you will find a hard time choosing between Gabriel and Justin.
The only problem I really had with this book was the clues. We barely had any clues to go by in figuring out who it could be. It was like we were actually learning as Clarity was. Sometimes this can be a good thing if written well. I think it hindered this book though, because near the end, all of the clues surface just as the killer is revealed. I wanted more clues to keep me guessing throughout the entire book instead of just the end.
Overall though this was a great read that enjoyed. I read it fairly quickly and held my interest for the whole book. I do hope the author plans to write a sequel to it and have a story branched off for Perry as well. I would like to see him have his own book.

I have been wanting to read Clarity since I first saw it, but have never gotten around to actually getting hold of a copy to read. When I saw that it had been picked up by a UK publisher I was really excited, and luckily enough my request was accepted.
Clarity (Claire) lives with her brother Periwinkle (Perry) and their Mum. Together they offer psychic readings for people, manly tourists. Their Mum is a telepath, Perry is a medium and Claire's power is retrocognitive psychometry. After a local murder, Claire is asked to assist in finding out who the murderer is but is only on a non-official basis. She is paired up with newcomer Gabriel and her ex, Justin, to solve the crime.
After waiting so long to read Clarity I was a bit hesitant to start it just in case it didn't live up to my expectations and was relieved to find I really enjoyed it. Clarity is a quick read and I managed to demolish the book in a few hours. I absolutely love the cover for it, it's eye catching and I would defiantly pick this up in the shops if I saw it. I laughed when the names were revealed, Claire is a normal name and Perry sounds ok, but having names like Clarity and Periwinkle, I would have changed my name myself.
From the moment I started reading Clarity I could not put it down. The first chapter gives us a look into what is to come and the second one starts out normally at a shop, but before the chapter is over we get a look into the families powers at work and the murder is announced. From then on we follow Claire as she not only tries to solve the murder, but also get her brother taken off the list of suspects.
I absolutely loved Claire and Perry's Mum. Her ability to read minds ensued for some hilarious actions from her children to stop this from happening, and when she does read their or other's minds some things she say had me laughing. I liked how she was strict in making sure they did things right and turning up for 'work', but also let them have freedom over a lot of other things and just relied on trust to make sure they were doing what they should be doing.
I felt sorry for Claire, not only with having to deal with Justin and how their relationship ended, but also for having her gift, it's hard for her to touch things without knowing if she will get a 'vision' or not. I have to admire her determination to get the murder solved, even when it threatened her life, and for also working with her ex and a stubborn non-believer. She makes some tough decisions and even after the book has finished she still has to make a choice over who she wants.
The characters all have their own distinct personality and voice and it was easy to keep track of who was who and what their role was in Clarity. Kim Harrington has wrote a book that draws the reader in, and keeps us there till the book has finished with twists and turns that keep you guessing over what will happen next. I am really looking forward to reading the next instalment, Perception, and I am tempted to buy the american version just to see what happens next.

Decent who done it with a paranormal twist. I can see how other may love it but it just wasn't for me.
This was a pretty good, quick read. There was romance and suspense and a family with paranormal talents. Clarity, or Clare for short, is the main character who can see visions by touching items that belong to the person. It creates some interesting situations for her...including an investigation where her brother is a suspect for murder and a twisted love triangle.
I'm still shaking in excitement.
That was an intense ending I really didn't see coming. This author has a way with writing suspense. I loved the main character, Clare. She was sassy and funny.
The only thing I didn't like was the love triangle. I really didn't like either boy all that much and when the kiss came it didn't make my heart flutter.
Regardless, the book was intense and mysterious and kept me guessing throughout. A great debut.
