I'm far too old to be the target market for this, and so the writing style (very colloquial and teen-y) grated on me a little, but this is a great collection of mini-biographies of much neglected women who have played important, if ignored roles through history. This would make a great addition to a upper primary/middle school library to raise awareness of women's achievements and encourage girls into STEM subjects.

Wonder Women showcases the stories of a number of women in a variety of fields. There was so much diversity within these stories that I never found myself bored while reading. Every single woman in this book lived a fascinating life and did something both impressive and important to the world, yet I had heard of very few of them prior to reading Wonder Women. That's a huge shame and one of the reasons why I'm grateful that this book exists and that I read it.
The writing style of the book is also fantastic. Each and every story is told in a fun, humorous way that nonetheless manages to be serious when it's important to be. It made me want to read more from the author.
This book is one that I would highly recommend to almost anyone.
I received this book for free through a giveaway. This did not affect my review.

There were a lot of really cool women in here that I'd never heard of before (even a Danish one, the spy Birgitte Tott), and only a handful that I already knew of. I think the strength of this book is in the fact that its focus is not on Marie Curie, Amelia Earhart and other cool women that you most likely have heard of before, but instead on lesser known women deserving of more attention, like scientists Lise Meitner, Emmy Noether and Wang Zhenyi, women of medicine like Ogino Ginko and Marie Equi, women of espionage like Sarah Emma Edmonds and Noor Inayat Khan, inventors Margaret Knight and Bessie Blount Griffin and women of adventure like Maria Sibylla Merian, Annie Smith Peck, Ynes Mexia, Annie Londonderry and Bessie Coleman.
The author clearly tried to include women from all over the world, though American women feature more prominently than Asian, African and European women, but that is a minor quibble. I was introduced to a lot of brave, intelligent, trailblazing women that I hadn't heard of before, and I thank the author for that.

I'm not sure how to rate this. It's a great overview of awesome women (most of whom I hadn't heard of) but the style/tone is SO ANNOYING AND COY and full of dumb jokes that I am overwhelmed with irritation.
Interesting, but the writing style got a bit tiring after a while.
(Also assuming everyone knows their fandom references. When they mentioned John Locke and were like 'but not the Lost guy' I was like....wait, what? Who is the Lost guy? Why would we be talking about a tv character right now? Also a Winchester incest joke in the middle of actual historical child bride talks, kinda not cool.)
So yeah. A great idea. Loved the illustrations and the information. Could have done with a less informal style of writing.
