the june 2020 version of andrea who is binge-comfort-reading romance novels decided to give this a try. it was a cute enough premise, with fun and funny and lighthearted writing, and i did enjoy reading it! poppy was super relatable and sam was a great LI! but i HONESTLY cannot fathom how

poppy would have believed magnus about the new engagement ring the 2nd time around, and how she could have survived being humiliated around/by his family at every single interaction. the camisole scene had me cringing in secondhand embarrassment.
Poppy acaba de perder su valioso anillo de compromiso y no deja de buscarlo por todas partes, pidiendo a todas las personas que trabajan en el hotel donde lo perdió que se pongan en contacto con ella si tienen cualquier noticia sobre su paradero. Su mala suerte no termina ahí ya que después le roban el móvil. Así que cuando encuentra un teléfono en la basura se lo queda para poder darles otro número de teléfono al que puedan contactar si encuentran el anillo. A partir de aquí Poppy “comparte” el móvil con Sam, el empresario al que le pertenece el móvil.
Tras esa premisa me esperaba un libro romántico al uso, pero no fue así. Hay mucho menos romance de lo que esperaba. Trata más sobre los problemas en los que se mete Poppy y en los líos que se mete al intentar solucionarlos, que me hicieron sufrir con ella y ponerme en su piel. Es un libro muy divertido gracias a su protagonista, que está obsesionada con lo que los demás piensan de ella y ser amable siempre con todos.
Sam es todo lo contrario. Intenta ser lo más profesional posible sin molestarse en gustarle a sus compañeros. Esto da lugar a discusiones muy divertidas por la frustración de Poppy al leer los mensajes tan serios que manda. Me gustó mucho el personaje de Sam porque me pareció una persona real, para nada idealizado.
Al leerlo tenía la sensación de que podría ser perfectamente una película de comedia romántica que me encantaría y me gustaría verla adaptada. Pensaba que la historia sería más dramática por presentar un nuevo personaje como interés romántico cuando la protagonista está comprometida con otro, pero la autora lo lleva más por la comedia, algo que agradezco.

i forgot how much i love sophie kinsella books..really love the story and it keep me hooked to finished it..
Sophie Kinsella bring another winner. I think I will love everybook she ever writes, shes brilliant. This one could be made into a great movie!

Lots of humor and plenty of obstacles to keep the characters sweating. You know those books where you want to shake the character by her ink-and-paper shoulders and cry, "No! Don't do it!"? This is one of those.
I loved the idea of what you learn about another person by snooping into her/his phone. (While not something that's ethical, it was awfully fun to read about in fiction.)
There were some incredibly dear moments, too.
