I’m starting to learn that there aren’t many misses in Korean literature. I was so frustrated by this novel in the first half because everything seemed so unfair, but then it completely switched. I wasn’t even expecting the ending when it came. I really enjoyed this.

A rural classroom in the South Korea of the 1960s serves as a wonderfully Orwellish allegory for the country's struggle against dictatorship.
