SO I'm basically rereading all the books I own right now lol and I remember loving this book in about 5h grade. I can tell reading it now that it's technically for younger kids (higher elementary, probably) but I still think it's pretty good and doesn't get old! I usually only read Logan and Daisy's parts because Logan's has most of the content and Daisy is just awesome and, yes, I did that and skimmed Miles and Philip, I'm sorry.
I didn't even know until this reading that Philip and Daisy are hinted at liking each other! Daisy holds Phillip's hand at one point and Philip and the boat and Daisy was hilarious.
I love Wendy Mass and though this isn't my favorite book of hers (Every Soul A Star is my favorite), it's one of the best, in my opinion!

SPOILERS AHEAD!
.
This book was full of whimsy and fun and I loved *nearly* all of it. I wasn’t particularly fond of the one character being a spy…. But I hate spy stories so, I can’t say that it negatively affected the plot, just that personally I didn’t like it. However I’m sure the kids reading this thought a 12 year old super spy is super fucking bad ass.
.
I thoroughly enjoyed the multiple perspectives in this story and the retelling of the same chunks of time didn’t feel even a little monotonous as they sometimes do. The author focused specifically on the individual characters actions motives and thoughts in these time replays. The Candymakers was a fantastic story about facing fears, making friends, solving a mystery and most of all CANDY. I highly recommend this one!

Another master piece by Wendy Mass. Although this book smacks of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it turns out differently. I loved the character depth and development in this book. You see each character from the inside and out and applaud the friendships that form and change from the beginning to the end. Be prepared to sit down, with something sweet because you are sure to crave candy while reading, and devour this book!!

I LOVED this book! I loved it so much, that I actually read it thirteen times!
I really liked how it changed perspectives, books that do that, really appeal to me. The whole telling each story separately idea, rather than simply switching perspectives every chapter is questionable, but it was written so that it would not have worked any other way.
I really liked how Logan's scars were never mentioned until the second part, because it kept me from thinking of him as "Scar boy", and thinking of him as "Main candy boy". It also let me connect to Logan similarly to how the characters connected to him. It seemed like his scars disappeared, and I was able to look past his scars.
I liked Miles' backstory, and how he was in two worlds, and I was able to connect to his love of books.
I loved the surprise I felt when I found out that Daisy was a spy.
I adored the connection that I felt when I learned what was motivating Phillip.
This book was wonderful, and the format made it better.
