Should be called 'Yoda Beyond Thunderdome'. Good story but seems odd that Obi Wan would be so cryptic in his writing that he never mentions Yoda's name.
This was a tragic letdown. Jason Aaron bores the life out of readers by telling a story mostly in the past with Yoda that is incredibly lifeless and boring. It magically ties into Luke's reading of Obi-Wan's journal and applies to what's happening today. Shrug. The overall story doesn't move forward at all. This was basically a filler story. Larocca's art was very good but the story was the issue. Overall, a giant disappointment.
3 - 3.5 stars
This volume focused on an adventure of Yoda's from before the Clone Wars. It was fine, but not super-compelling. Some of the ideas were intriguing, but again, not earth-shattering. I did really enjoy the story with Leia and Pash in the Annual #2 section of the book. The dialog exchanges between them were fantastic.

I quite enjoyed the fact Master Yoda's past was being explored in this one. The story could of been a bit more exciting but it was still cool to delve into his past a little.
First story was Lord of the Flies-boring, though Yoda's always a treat. Everyone else in the story--snore. The second story was more interesting, though awfully predictable. Leia and Pash Davane, a former underwater engineer, have to work together to get an injured Leia off-planet. In the process, Pash rediscovers her lost hope.
I'm going through the Star Wars Official Canon. This was okay. It's always fun to see Yoda and Princess Leia but there just wasn't much to the two stories.

As Yoda himself would say: "largely pointless, this is".
In reality, this is a story-within-a-story-within-a-story, with Luke Skywalker reading this from 'Old Ben' Obi-Wan Kenobi's journal whilst in the cockpit of his X-Wing, chasing after R2-D2 who has decided to rescue (on his own) the captured at the end of The Final Flight of the Harbinger C-3PO from the Imperials.
And, as the arc ends, (presumably) R2-D2 is still in transit, with C-3PO still in custody.
