This was the first book I ever read of Pepper winters.
I have to say she really good to mix fuck up things with romance.
This story is really good. I have really entertained but the plot I love books that you get so much thrill because you have no ideas what gonna happen next.
There are some parts that I cringe but the plot is so good and the background of the characters is so good that it's make up for it.
I like to read dark books but it always make me mad, shock and on edge. Apparently, I like that.
I am not gonna lie some pages were not reading fully but still for my first dark romance it was good.

Tears of Tess- Pepper Winters
5-star review
Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters is a story that left me with so many emotions, emotions I can’t even express or explain! This story is dark, twisted and so haunting. From the very beginning I was pulled into this dark and realistic world that Pepper created. There were quite a few times where I had to stop reading as I could easily picture everything playing out. Tess’s story is not for the faint of heart as it touches on sensitive subject matter such as rape. But even with all of the darkness I still fell in love with this book, it managed to make me see life in a different light, as not everything is as it seems.
I am looking forward to reading the second book in this Monsters in the Dark series to follow Tess and Q some more. I would absolutely recommend this haunting story to anyone whose ready to wage a war on their heart with the many conflicting emotions this story brings out!

Holy cow! I've just gone down the proverbial rabbit hole. My warning to you is that this extremely dark romance is not for the faint of heart. It's about the need for love and acceptance. The need to awaken the blackest part of your lustful soul with the monster who owns it.
Tess Snow has always reined in her true self from her sweet loving boyfriend Brax. She wants passion and adventure in the bedroom and out and he wants vanilla. Brax's surprise trip to Cancun gives Tess hope that they can everything up, but Tess's life becomes a nightmare from hell. She is kidnapped, beaten, barcoded, and tagged like a cow and sold to the highest bidder. Blindfolded and flown to a mansion in France, she is forced to become a slave for a monster named Q. But there is more to this man with his beautiful and disturbing tattoos and his struggles to maintain control and Tess loves the power she holds over him. Will she be able to break him before he ruins her?
There is a lot of horrible triggering things that happen to Tess who tenaciously stays strong and learns to fight to keep sane. The intense lust and fight for dominance with Tess and Q kept me reading well into the night following Tess's depraved descent into BDSM and trying to piece together Q's past and the reason he has taken Tess in. Let's just say Q's upbringing was twisted at best making him the confused and barely controlled man Tess is dead set on unleashing. When they finally let go it's a hot spiral into a depraved world beyond this reader's comprehension.
This dark romance is sometimes hard to watch, but it's like a trainwreck where you just can't stop reading. The plot is non-stop action, the lust is deliciously dark, and the characters are twisted and wicked. This book ends with a HEA, but there are three more books in this series that I plan to add to my TBR pile.

✨ 4.5 Stars!
I now know why everyone recommends Pepper Winters for dark and twisted romances. As someone who considers herself an avid reader of the genre, I'm starting to think I may not have truly known dark books until now.
Firstly I can completely understand the reviewers who didn't enjoy the contents within this book. It is not for the faint of heart; Pepper Winters doesn't pull any punches or takes shortcuts when dulling out dark, dangerous or twisted. So if you do decide to dive in, I highly suggest you leave your morality behind and go in with the mindset that this is far from conventional, and you will not agree to any of this in the real world, but fictional? It makes for a wicked and wild ride.
Now, maybe I have a few screws loose because I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was riveting to read and seeing how Q and Tess were bound together by their dark sexual desires was addicting to read. I haven't read many books with a sadist/masochist dynamic, but after this, I'm kind of wanting to read more. This didn't feel cheap, or disturbing; it felt pivotal for the story and for the characters.
With a broken hero who needs to inflict pain and a broken heroine who has always seeked a rougher partner—they were made for an imperfectly perfect pair.
MAJOR TRIGGERS—if you have any triggers, this will most likely not be for you. I would highly recommend checking these before picking it up.
Just in case anyone was wondering:
I stopped from giving this 5 stars because it did have its slow moments, and during those I would get a little bored and be tempted to skim to the good parts. Don't let this deter you though, because they do play a part in the overall story and those good parts are worth waiting for.

I’ve seen a lot of hype about this book, but it just fell flat for me. There are other Pepper Winters books that I enjoyed much more than this one. I will keep reading the series because sometimes stories get better as they go on.

I felt like we didn't really get to know the MMC. Q was kinda just throwing a pity party for himself the whole time, and we had no idea why until the epilogue! I also don't understand why what Q was doing for the women who came through his house was such a secret. Like, Tess wouldn't have run if she had just a little more information.
