I have no idea what I just read, but I'm not sure I care. The plot is impossible to follow (a cat-human wants to kill a vampire countess?) but the images stand on their own as one of the creepiest, most beautiful works I've ever seen. It was such great, gothic horror that made brilliant use of red, white and black. And it was extremely gay, which doesn't hurt.

Granted, I read this pretty quickly, but I expected...more.

Separately, the art and the story are both beautiful and haunting, but together they don't work as well--the dreamlike, almost poetic words don't mesh well with the harsh black-and-red of the illustrations. Regardless, still a solid spooky read.

Great Horror / Dark fairytale.

Loved the Viceral artwork and fairy tale style storytelling
dark mysterious

Sure, the story was good, but the art! Incredible! Loved every second!

I absolutely adore Emily's stories, another great spooky comic

The story was pretty simple, a car woman goes to kill a demony countess and it's not as easy as she intended. There's a lot to infer here but the art was stunning. I read it for the art.

More lesbian vampire graphic novels.

Sapphic horror graphic novel. The black, white, and red color theme Carroll does adds to the creepiness. Did I understand the plot? No. Did I still enjoy the story? Yes.
