The book was ok, I liked the ending but the romance is sooo boring. Addie’s most redeeming quality is her spite towards Luc, but her and Henry are just so boring together.

This book, while I think it was overhyped, was a really good read. I loved reading Addie’s history, and was even rooting for Luc in the end.

I had no expectations when I started reading this book, except for knowing it was an author that I was interested in discovering - I didn't even pick it myself, but rather was given it by a friend who bought two editions on the same day!

That being said, I did enjoy it, and it got me out of a reading slump after trying out another book that I ended up not finishing. There were some things that slightly bothered me though.  Mostly the pace felt very slow, as nice as the vignettes were I kept waiting for something to happen and for the story to pick up after all that exposition. It eventually did... In the last 20% of the book (which I read much faster than the rest as a result!). I also kept thinking that Addie had a lot more chemistry with Luc than with Henry, but I personally tend to enjoy more twisted romances than those made of pure fluff and comfort.

I really loved the prose though; yes, the metaphors can be a bit pretentious, like other reviews have pointed out, but for me it's a feature, not a bug.
So while I probably will not re-read it, and it has taught me to seek more plot-driven books, that was still a very good time!

Not for me but maybe for other people. I did not find Addie likeable nor any of the other characters. The authors writing style got repetitive and annoying for me.

So beautiful. I loved the audiobook and think I’ll have to read it as a physical copy or ebook myself someday. I have a feeling there will be more to discover and enjoy with each re-read.

Loved the story and writing style. The only thing I didn’t like was Henry’s POV.
