Miles and Kate

This was a very good read. Kate tries to find a spot to finish writing her book when she finds free coffee at a local car place. Miles sees Kate sneaking in and out and has to see what her deal is.

a cute meet cute

When I originally read this I accidentally read Take a Number (Book 4) first. Then i went back to read the whole series. Who doesn’t love a good meet cute? When romance author Kate finds sitting at an auto shop customer service center helps her writing, she finds ways to keep going there to keep her writing mojo intact. When she runs out of cars to bring, she sneaks in. Miles notices our red haired Kate and wonders what she’s up to. This story is fun and will keep you entertained and a bit of wondering when will Kate finally tell Miles all of her truths. Miles is a bit of a cinnamon roll and you will fall in love with him just as fast as Kate does.

April 2023 Audiobook Review: Teddy Hamilton as Miles? Yes, please! I enjoyed Erin Mallon as Kate. They did a great job in narrating the cute story.

Amy Daws is a guarantee for a fun read. Things I loved about this book:
* The chemistry and spice
* The idea of writing in tire store
* The budding friendship

I felt like this book was a little predictable at times.

4.5 stars! I loved this book! It's funny and sweet, with just enough angst, and a pretty satisfying HEA.

I had some issues with Miles in this one. His internal dialog didn't really match up with some actions. The "no drama" thing got old. Most people that say this usually cause it in some way. I doubt there's any way to be 100% "drama free".

Kate's secrets ... well ... more annoying than not. I really dislike the "oh, no, I can't tell this person who I really am" thing. (I DNF a book early on when it was headed down that path. It was going to be a bigger deal than what happened in this book.) The Ex drama and the friend drama seemed like a weak attempt at some angst. Didn't really like how the issue with the Ex was resolved.

Would I read again? Probably not.
Would I read more of the series? Not likely.
