Maybe this book is better for the person who has absolutely zero understanding of money. If you’ve ever read another personal finance book, probably skip this one. Highly geared towards the American, middle class and not all that useful to any other nationalities.

Did not like the first few chapters but it got better as it got very factual. A lot was American and didn't apply to me, but I did look up stuff from my country and I did start saving in an index fond.

Just an okay book. I knew a lot of the things going in. I recommend for those who know nothing about how to save or pay off debt. Entertaining for sure.

This was my second attempt to read this book and it’s just NOT GOOD.
The thing that bothered me the most was the author’s habit of constantly referring back to other chapters in the MOST obnoxious way. For example, mentioning a Financial Planner, and telling the reader to refer to chapter 17.  Expect she does it EVERY SINGLE TIME a finance concept comes up. And not every FIRST time. Every. Time.
The writing itself is incredibly cringy. It felt infantilizing, honestly, like the author thought she was talking to someone with half a brain. Also, stop talking about participation trophies. We millennials are so tired of hearing about participation trophies, even amongst ourselves. It’s a cheap joke and I hate it.

"Trying to change how you spend or save money without understanding why it's difficult in the first place probably means you'll slip up."

I wasn't a big fan of this personal finance book; the information was very basic. There are much better personal finance books that cover the basics that I would recommend such as I Will Teach You To Be Rich.

I'm always trying to learn more about finances, and this was a great book to learn about a variety of things, like investing and loans and maximizing your savings and working towards goals like car purchasing or home ownership. The language and writing style is really approachable, and I found myself learning a lot that I didn't know about finances. I made 2017 the year to really get my financial life together, and the change from Jan to now is huge and I'm excited to apply some of the things I learned in this book to my life. I'm also pretty stoked that I already was doing a lot of the things that Lowry suggested. If you're looking to learn more about your financial life, check this book out.
