I had to DNF by chapter 17 - It was making me cringe. Quick was such an overbearing ass. No matter how many times Cayson asked him to calm down or let him handle something, Quick was suddenly right there acting like his bodyguard. It was just a turn off. Quick seemed overly simplistic. He treated Cayson like complete garbage in the first book and wanted to act like it never happened. His internal homophobia was never addressed.

Plus Cayson was such a meek and kind of pathetic man. The ongoing situation with Joe just made him seem so sad. He was a grown man accepting scraps from this closeted jerk. Joe wouldn’t even have anal with him because he thought it perverse but would let Cayson suck him off. Cayson was a successful doctor so why he felt this was enough just didn’t vibe with me. And the fact that Cayson was disappointed he’d lose his friend when he decided he wanted to date Quick was…odd. Joe was never his friend. In any way.

So I bailed because I didn’t like either MC.

This one didn’t really work for me, a lot to do with Quick and his son and the time line.
Spoiler Like how old was Quick when he knocked up his ex wife? And if him and Duke are the same age but there’s only 10 year different between Duke and the son... but then it happened in his senior year and his 45 when his son is early 30’s or am I getting these facts wrong, don’t think I am. But then there’s the fact that they were only married for 7 years, which ok, but he left when his son was 12 and a shot gun wedding doesn’t mean, ‘oh we’ll wait’ it generally means you’re married before that baby pops out.

This whole plot was okay and I really like that they go out on the job but overall tho I generally like older men getting together this one just didn’t hit the mark for me.

Omg, that was good. I enjoyed that just as much as part one. I can't wait to read the entire Nothing Special series.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

When I finished [b:Promises Part 1|27157568|Promises Part 1 (Bounty Hunters, #1)|A.E. Via|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1444695386s/27157568.jpg|47196717], I couldn't wait to read Quick and Cayson's story. A GFY with a tough, alpha male? Sign me up!! And I was not disappointed. This story picks up shortly after the first books ends, with Cayson still hurting from Quick's rude dismissal of him. Duke and Vaughn get Cayson to make a house call to check on Quick after he is hurt on a retrieval. Quick has finally decided that he wants to give a relationship with Cayson a shot, but things don't go the way he wants.

Quick is a great mix of sugar and spice, romance and heat. Yumm. Cayson has been hurt so many times and doesn't think he is good enough for anyone. Throw in a crazy closeted ex, a cameo by God and Day, and lots of action, romance, and some great smexy times and you have one hell of a fun ride!

I LOVE Roman. He's funny and intense and sweet. I love how his character is written.
The Dr, I forgot his name, Bryan I think, was kind of annoying. I really don't know what Roman likes in him.
I get it, but I didn't like it. I still enjoyed this story. It was entertaining. Aiden Snow, the narrator is amazing as always!

I liked this one a bit better than the first because it was less of the instant love. I also felt like this story line was a bit more developed.

Loved it

Absolutely loved this book and the characters. Another great story with romance, steam, fluff, family, action and healing old hurts. Definitely going to get the next one.
