I received this book as an ARC from Goodreads Giveaways. I really liked this book by the end, it just took me a while to get into. If 3.5 stars was an option that is what I would've given it.

Katherine Dance is a body language expert for the CBI. In this novel she is chasing a killer who uses fear and crowds to kill. About halfway through, this book really takes off. It might've happened sooner had I read the previous novels as it wouldn't have taken me as long to get into the characters. I am definitely putting the first Kathryn Dance novel on my "to read" list as I feel like these characters have a lot of potential.

Good thriller. Will always love Jeffrey Deaver. But this lacked the pace that Lincoln rhyme novels have. It seemed to slow a bit in the middle, and I would have preferred there to be more crime and drama than family life stories. But that might just be me. Still worth a read.

Felt like I was reading The Mentalist in the very beginning. Could have been an interesting FBI series to watch but gosh, reading it was exhausting. I might have liked it better if I read this when I was 12, but now, I had to honestly push myself to finish it. I realized that there are times when men shouldn't write female characters because we aren't one dimensional. I don't wanna be spiteful, but my biased opinion may or may not have to do with the fact that the book could have been 200 pages too.

If I do have to give an unbiased opinion, then I may give it three stars. Unfolding was interesting. But it couldn't keep me hooked.

I really enjoyed this series. Kathryn Dance is a hardworking detective and an amazing mother just trying to do her best. Lots of men vying for her attention throughout but only 2 that really caught her eye. Both great men and great with her children. I loved her relationship with Bowlen, I think he is exactly what she needed after being widowed. He was the perfect man to ease her back into the dating world and her kids loved him. BUT that ending!!!! Yes I didn’t see it coming at all and it was perfect! It’s one of those endings that make you want to cry because it’s both sad and happy all at the same time. I’m so so happy with who she ended up with in this book. I think it’s exactly who her and the kids needed and wanted.
