I didn't really care for it. I found the story boring and slow, the ending utterly predictable. I hated the "Queen's prayer" - "Our Mother, who art in labor, hallowed be thy womb..." Seriously.. how ridiculous is that? Plus there were all the really annoying sexual/penis references by the male drones ("my dronewood is hard as a twig") - it was just super cheesy and laughable. I really wanted to like this one, but it's just not my thing. On the plus side, I feel like I learned a lot about honeybees.

I thought I would enjoy this book after reading favorable reviews and the description of it on Amazon.
I can't be correct all of the time. I just couldn't get into it, and at this point in my life, I have learned that if a book doesn't grab me, I have other books waiting to be read.
I'm sure many of you will enjoy this and I wish you a happy read (or a Goodread!)

A real page turner. I thought it may get bogged down in the detail of the hive but instead it was fascinating and I want to learn more. I know watch any bee out the window with new interest. It may have put me off honey thoughðŸ˜

I loved this book, it was so amazing to see everything from the bees point of view. Found it so interesting and has made me look at bees in a totally different way! Was on my mind for days after reading it.

It was hard to get into but then I was hooked.
I enjoyed being part of a hive & getting to know more about bees & their ways. Would recommend this book if you’re tired about reading about humans.
