At last! A story of a BDSM story about trust and romance instead of just the steamy, tied up parts (though there is that too). A nuanced story beautifully drawn. Recommended.

Beautiful drawings and a sexy sweet story of finding love.
This is an on-going comic (originally a webcomic, now being published by Image). about two women who are just starting on BDSM relationship that eventually grows beyond just "new friends/strangers that have only been talking online" to actual lovers.
I really, really like this series. It's cute, heartfelt, kinda sexy (definitely more in a fade to black kinda way than explicit), and both the two main characters and the supporting cast are interesting and three-dimensional. The premise is a little hard to believe/starts VERY in media res, so at first I thought I had missed something, but I think the author just wanted to get the ball rolling with story, as he does go into much more detail about the characters' pre-book lives in the following volumes. The art is beautiful (if you've read the comic Rat Queens, Šejić is the new artist on that series), which I think it makes the whole series even more compelling. I *will* say that the covers so far are nooooooot quiiiiiiiite SFW, so, uh, read this at home and maybe don't leave it lying around for anyone to find (or do! I bonded over this with my new roommate when she saw them sitting in our living room). If you at all like gay ladies, kink, or comics, I highly recommend giving this a try.

Compelling and titillating enough to read in one sitting, this is an exploration of a lesbian BDSM coupling that simply does that job and nothing more. There's no cheesy conflict, there's no element of damaged personality or horrific past event, there's not even iconoclastic taboo-breaking, simply an acknowledgement that some people like things and some other people do not. Extremely erotic and confrontational about nudity and kink, manages to be super-sexy without really showing any sex. A good story, and certainly over-the-top in terms of frank depictions of a gay BDSM relationship, but not porn. I would read more of this.

A wonderful book filled with sexy, creative, and safe bdsm
