This book has gotten a lot of shit, but I liked it a lot. It was fast paced, interesting, and technical. It deserves some praise - that being said...

Although I did spot one of the twists from just before the halfway point, it was satisfying learning that I was right in the end. My only disapproval is that I find it such a copout when you find out extremely important information/the main twist in the last 10 pages of the book, which is exactly what happened here. It undoes the entire 350 page story, which is cheap, because the whole (now unnecessary and longwinded) story could have been explained in literally 10 pages in what the author incorrectly portrays as a "reveal" ... idk, it's a pet peeve of mine.

There are times when an I-got-away-with-it twist works so well (like Gone Girl) because there are glimpses into the past, pre-established emotions, diabolical planning, etc., and then there are times when it doesn't (The Perfect Marriage) because a humungous revelation is sprung on you without being established first.

Still worth the read imo.

This book had so many plot holes. Didn’t make sense at all and felt as if the author knew absolutely nothing about criminal justice. Also had a very unsurprising ending

One detail wasn’t explicitly tied up at the end and now it’ll bug me for the rest of my life haha very beautiful un-love story though!
