THIS BOOK WAS SO CUTE. As a hockey fan who also loves musical theatre (and a good queer romance), this was an awesome and joy-bringing graphic novel. 10/10, definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.

Alix has plans to attend the Canada National Women’s Hockey Summer Camp, but when she looses her temper on a teammate her coach threatens to pull her recommendation. Determined to play the sport she loves, she seeks help from Ezra, the Queer drama kid who always seems to know just what to say to the bullies without loosing his cool.
As their relationship grows, Alix learns how her past behavior has been hurtful when she doesn’t stand up for others - as well as herself. To make meaningful change she’ll need to decide if her new friends - and herself - are worth a sacrifice.
This was another delightful read from Faith Erin Hicks!

This was cute. I liked it for the most part. I liked the premise of the book and feel like it did that well for a good part of it.
It started to feel very rushed as it got closer to the end. Ezra and the boyfriend felt rushed. The problem with Ezra’s best friend was resolved super fast. And I wanted to see a little more after Alix had her big moment at the end, but then it was just done.
I kinds wish we didn’t have the whole Alix meeting her dad thing. That wasn’t bad really, but to see him after never knowing him felt way too casual.
I did like relationship. I thought it was cute and fun. But chunks of the book didn’t work for me. But I’m glad I read it!
