This was such a cute queer coming of age story. I think watching the FMC struggle with her team and her anger is totally relatable as a teenager. Especially when sexuality is thrown into the mix. This was such a good peek at why people act the way they do, how hurt can cause big scars and big grudges. It also shows that just because you have different interests doesn't mean that you can't relate to others.

This kind of reminds me of a gender swapped Sk8ter Boy, but without the he wasn’t good enough for her part.

There was not a lot of trying to control emotions part though

𝗛𝗢𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗟 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗔 𝗕𝗢𝗬 𝗯𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀 is a charming and heartfelt graphic novel that beautifully captures a high school romance between Alix, a passionate hockey player, and Ezra, a poised theater kid. The story kicks off with Alix losing her temper and risking her spot on the Canada National Women’s U18 Team. Desperate to manage her anger, she turns to Ezra for help. Set in British Columbia, the Canadian references add a delightful touch of authenticity. I was particularly impressed with how the novel handled heavy themes like bullying and anger management. The dynamic between Alix and Ezra is sweet and genuine, showcasing the magic of opposites attracting. The coach’s behavior was frustrating and made me really upset, but it was realistically portrayed. I wish the book were longer and can only hope for a sequel. I cannot forget to mention the art... wow! I love the style and can't wait to see more from this artist. I thoroughly enjoyed this feel-good tale and recommend it to fans of "Heartstopper."
