calling it. this reread ain’t happening
The past couple days, I've been agonizing to read a page or two of this book each night and I just can't work up the enthusiasm. Last night, I even flipped ahead to see how many pages were in this chapter. I gave this book a fair shake. However, I have read a lot of urban fiction and this book treads on a lot of familiar territory, sometimes multiple territories at the same time: demon hunters, vampires, werewolves, et al. When the young adult angle is ladled on top of all that.... Yawn.
If you want a good urban fantasy, try Sandman Slim. Not a kids book but its far more entertaining.
After reading several reviews that compared this book to the author's previous forays into HP fanfic and the very obvious comparisons of the characters to Rowling's array of ragamuffin teens, I had to pull the plug on this.
A friend had initially recommended this book to me and sometimes we have spot-on similarities in taste and sometimes not. This is one of those latter cases. As I've mentioned, I've read a lot of UF, probably more than she, and this is a case where all my cumulative previous reading made this book fall way short of my expectations.

Hacía mucho tiempo que quería empezar a leer cazadores de sombras. Vi la película hace mucho y también veía la serie, sabía que los libros eran bastante diferentes y que serían mejores. A pesar de eso, debo decir que me sorprendió que me sorprendiera (valga la redundancia) en algunas partes y que a pesar de que más o menos me sé la historia me tuviera tan enganchada.
En fin, me ha encantado y quiero seguir la saga pronto, ya me tarde suficiente empezándola jsjkbsakn
