Oooph. I didn’t connect with the characters enough. There was no investment for me. I actually found myself skipping through pages to jump ahead, later realizing that nothing happened enough to even warrant back tracking. - not a good sign for the plot.
Even when the climax hit with meeting her ex-mother in law… which is such a shame because there were some super cute and great moments throughout the first 45% of the book. Then it just fell flat.
This one wasn’t for me but I’m not gonna give up on the author. I def will pick up another book to see if this was just a fluke.
If you’re looking for spice tho. This one has a few goods ones!

This author kept me wanting more because you never knew what was going to happen at the football games. Love is never predictable either.

Sometimes you get a feel when reading the prologue, like: this one’s gonna be a exciting or a mystery or a tear jerker. You can just tell, you know?! This one came outta no where and had me grabbing the tissues. I need a warning for that stuff ppl. Just tell me “Girl, you gonna cry”. That’s all I ask. Seriously though, this one…it’s made of all the good stuff.

romance was cute and the plot points were unique! although gemma was football girlie it didn’t feel like she wanted to be like “i’m not like other girls”, she just genuinely liked football which was nice! zach was cute too! the book moves pretty fast but not in a bad way
